Curly Hair Cara and the Caring Cat: An encouraging rhyme book about confidence, positive self-image, & emotional support animals for children.

This encouraging rhyme book is about a beautiful brown skinned girl named Cara. Cara is uniquely beautiful and becoming self aware of her self-image the more she grows. She realizes that she lives in a mosaic world full of people of many different sizes, shapes, but most noticeably for her, skin colors and hair textures. Cara realizes personally that her hair is different from others because it sometimes attracts stares. Stares that makes Cara feel very uncomfortable at times. Although Cara deals with discomfort because of her hair in public, at home she’s always awaited and embraced by her loving & encouraging family. One very special member whose also her best friend. Her best friend named Cassie, Cara’s pet cat. 

Cassie is Cara’s emotional support fur friend. Cassie supports Cara as she builds confidence. She cares and comforts Cara in her sad & happy moments. And with all the support Cara receives between her parents and Cassie, she is more empowered by the day to begin loving herself for who she is. Cara is learning to accept her hair in all of its beauty. Her confidence begins growing not only because of her caring cat, but the moment Cara realizes the real meaning of freedom & fun. Freedom and fun for Cara emerges the moment she discovers that life is so much better when she doesn’t worry about what others think of her or what makes her different from the kids her age. Instead Cara finds peace and joy in what makes her free to simply be herself. Cara also surprisingly learns that the more she’s confident in her beautiful brown skin & gorgeous coily hair, that she’s more inspiring to others than she could’ve ever imagined.
